Good points and I agree. I think in part what Protandim is doing is to make curcumin bioavailable as you noted, in addition to other symbiotic effects. Thanks for contributing.

The heading of your post struck my eye as I was surfing to find what curcumin and Nrf2 had in common. I liked your answer. However, I question the notion that a small dose of curcumin would be enhanced by the symbiotic action of other substances. My point is that curcumin is so extraordinarily resistant to absorption through the human gut. Even rats and mice have very low levels of bioavailability. And then once it gets into the bloodstream it is taken directly to the liver, where it is metabolized, and the metabolites are not nearly as effective as the free curcumin. While I have found ways to get around these barriers, it does take a bit of doing. The only other option is to take massive doses (like 8 grams). Incidentally, while it is possible to shove enough curcumin into a rat to get a toxic reaction, that has yet to be achieved with humans -- even at 12 grams per day for six months.
I'll check back later in case you have commented about my comment.

I found that ASEA was expensive compared to Protandim, and while ASEA says it makes SOD, Protandim affects lots more, for a third the price. Plus Protandim has peer reviewed science, when I typed ASEA on Pubmed, I got nothing, but Protandim has the science to prove it works.

People need to know how anonymous sellers on eBay can be. Its important that if you consider buying left-over Protandim on eBay you ask for the seller's distributor number, and validate it with the company by calling their customer service. I do know LifeVantage has terminated the distributor accounts for dozens of eBay sellers for this in an attempt to take care of the problems that exist on eBay. They'll find the worst offenders eventually.

Hi,
I do not understand why Ebay seller selling Protandim in Ebay over and over and over without removing the lists from Ebay. One Ebay seller has been sold over 200 bottles since August. Some were removed while other still on EBay list. I do not understand about this ! ! ! !

It's really meaningful and informative comparison about Nopalea vs Protandim. I think both of these products are very good at some end. I appreciate you for making a brilliant highlight of this topic. Thanks for this expose. :)

Great write up. I was curious about the claims of the product, so I tried it and within a 7 days of tracking my daily symptoms I was checking off indicators of greater wellness. My memory was better, I slept better, recovered from exercise better, and I ran a Lipid Peroxide test on myself before and after a month of use with significant decrease in oxidative stress. I am one person and many of my clients with increased oxidative stress have benefited from the product. To me, a simple combination of tried and true herbs works, but isn't expected to perform miracles.
