A Peer Reviewed study is sent to peers in the industry, it is reviewed by not just one but 2 or 3 different labs or peers. At any point, these peers can ask that something be changed, re-done or clarified. Until all peers are satisfied, it is not peer reviewed. Out of all peer reviewed studies, only a small portion are published. Its up to a panel of scientists or doctors to accept the study for publication.
